Concept
Gee Dixon is an independent artist working with the well known record label Redline Records. The task for this project was to create a conceptual roll out for three EP´s which was going to become one album. The term "Juju" is known from West African Voodoo and is used for well fortune or cursing. The inspiration came from the movie "City of god" and Gee Dixons Gambian heritage. The graphic concept is a voodoo doll having a journey from good to misery. The first EP was the start where the voodoo doll is swept with the ocean having mixed tracks uplifting and deep. In the second EP the voodoo doll is washed up on a tropical island where the music is summery happy tunes. The last and third EP is where the doll is back and broken left in a dirty valley somewhere in the suburbs. The music is accordingly deeper harder hiphop. The doll was made in 3D in order to place it where and how ever we want.
